Two hundred and five (205) triathletes - 150 from the United States, another 50 from the rest of the world and five (5) Physically Challenged triathletes - were chosen in the World Triathlon Corporation's lottery this past April for the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kaliua-Kona, Hawaii.
All but 22 - 183 - were assigned bib numbers and 173 earned an Ironman finish on Saturday, October 8, 2011. (All 10 completed the swim and four finished the bike portion of the event.)
